Our Hens packages are hosted at Mofo Lounge, which is located at 157 Greville St Prahran. The venue is conveniently located in the Chapel St entertainment precinct which makes planning a night out easy. There are a number of great cafes, restaurants and bars located within minutes walk from the venue.

Sparkling Hens Tea

It’s not quite your traditional High Tea! Our Sparkling Hens Tea event is an all-inclusive food, beverage and private room hire package which is available as a 2, 2.5 or 3-hour event.

Our Sparkling Hens Tea event is available with a minimum event charge for 10 people at the cost of $58 per person for the 2-hour event, $68 for the 2.5hr event, or $78 for the 3-hour event. The package includes:

2 – 3 hours of private room hire

2 – 3 hours of free-flowing sparkling, wine, soft drink and juice.

Upgrade your drinks package to include Moscato, domestic bottle beer and Bulmers cider. Add $6 per person for the 2-hour package, $7 for the 2.5hr, or $8 per person for the 3-hour package.

Platters of sweet & savoury, hot & cold canapes. This includes a selection of cakes & slices, petite sandwiches, cheese board, dips platter, hot canapes and antipasto platter.

Your hens party will have the room exclusively for 2 – 3 hours to indulge and entertain your hen, play hens games, or just to celebrate your night out together with the girls.

You’ll have full use of our video equipment which will allow you to play a slide show of photos or DVD during the event.

You’re also able to bring your own music along with connection available for plugging in an iPod.

On Saturdays the available times for the package are:

• 2 hour package: 12:30-2:30pm, 2:45-4:45pm & 5-7pm
• 2.5 hour package: 2:15-4:45pm & 5-7:30pm
• 3 hour package: 1:45-4:45pm.

The cost of the Life Drawing package is $125 per person with a minimum of 15 guests. This option is available on Saturdays from 1:45-4:45 pm. Please ask for available times for other days of the week.

Cocktail Making Class

The class is 2.5hrs long and allows you to run your own activities and hens games in between making cocktails. There is about a 25-minute break between making each cocktail which gives you time for these activities. You are welcome to bring your own music along with connections available for plugging an iPod into our sound system. You might also like to add in a topless waiter into your package. There is a minimum event charge on Saturdays for 10 guests. On other days the minimum charge is reduced to 7. MIDDLE PARK BOWLING CLUB

A story of progress and success…

The game we play was developed in Scotland in the second half of the 19th Century and introduced to Melbourne in the 1860s by migrants from Scotland. The Middle Park Bowling Club was formed in 1903 – by that time there were 33 bowling clubs in Melbourne, including 7 in the nearby suburbs. The Club was at that time largely for the influential people in the community – members were mostly older men, and membership costs were high. It maintained this status, with membership ranging between 150 and 200 until the Second World War.

Many bowling clubs in this period had women as “associate members”, but at Middle Park, the Ladies had their own club and played bowls from the start. This was uncommon. Our Ladies had a great deal of success, winning the Flag in the top Ladies pennant competition 7 times between 1913 and 1925. They dominated Ladies bowls for much of this period. The men did well too – they won the White Flag (for winning the top pennant level) in 1923 – still the only time the Club has won this. Individual members also won many honours. But the depression in the 1930s hit the club hard. From 1930 until after the Second World War, the club did poorly in terms of the number of bowlers, and the results they achieved.

My best recommendation is to start with something that everyone can share in – such as a craft, afternoon tea or a Melbourne boat cruise. Then lead into something spicier to get the mood going (think pole dancing, cocktail making, life drawing) and then escalate things further from there.

The most important thing though – is to make sure the day suits YOUR bride to be – not what you think a hen’s party should be. Some examples:
