What sets us apart from other venue sites is our diversity with regard to our offering: for the past decade alone we’ve catered for weddings from various cultures, tailoring and preparing the venue to suit and respect the traditions of all religious and cultural backgrounds. With our picturesque venue, ballroom and dancefloor, an event at Merrimu are one that will be remembered forever. What’s more, it’s a photographer’s dream-environment, which means that your wedding images will be as unique and special as your special day – or night. The original homestead was converted to a reception venue in 1955, now known as the Merrimu Room. Following a successful 12 years of trading, what is now known as the Grand Ballroom was constructed onto what was the sprawling grounds and circular driveway of the original home. The Merrimu Room, still complete with many of the original Victorian-era features, seats up to 140 guests, while the Grand Ballroom can seat up to 400 guests.

Orlando Combo provides all the necessary equipment for the band to perform. This includes high quality and compact amplifiers, full lighting and vocal PA (which can also be used by clients for speeches/announcements and iPod/recorded set break music or a high volume DJ dance set later in the evening if required). This can be a way of catering for all your guest's musical tastes without the additional cost of engaging a DJ. A cost-effective and compact live Jazz band and DJ combination!
Wedding Ceremony Music - On request, Orlando Combo can also use an ‘acoustic/mobile’ set up that is perfect for a pre-dinner drink set as your guests arrive (either outdoors or in a foyer) or is also ideal for wedding ceremony music. We can work in with your celebrant to enhance the atmosphere by entertaining your guests as they arrive, playing for the Bride/Groom's arrival/Processional and during the break for the signing of the register and then again at the end for the Recessional. We can then move inside for the reception.

Phoebe remembers loving music from very early in her life. ‘I remember being 3 or 4 years old and playing a 3 stringed guitar with a chopstick (as a bow) like a violin. Music has always been in my life’.

I was born and raised within the Yarra Valley and feel incredibly lucky to call a small slice of acreage within Mount Evelyn home. Mount Evelyn is a suburb located within the heart of the Yarra Valley, and I wake up every day falling more and more in love with the area and its surrounds.
Being in the heart of the Yarra Valley ensures that I am within 15 minutes to so many magical wedding venues, I feel as if they are all a second home. I am so grateful that I have built up lifelong friendships with the wedding venues and suppliers in the surrounding areas due to the passions we share - weddings!
Since a young age, I have always heard music differently, when I listen to a song I hear every beat and sound, which often would go unnoticed to others. I have always loved the music! At the age of ten, I picked up a set of drumsticks and instantly felt connected with them. A few years later I was playing in bands at local pubs, events and weddings.

We chose a DJ for our wedding day, and I just loved how the music mixed from one song to another (without a pause) creating an amazing dancefloor atmosphere. It was from this moment I knew I wanted to be a wedding DJ, and shortly after it became my full-time job.
My reputation was quickly established in the industry due to my passion and dedication to not only providing premium DJ / MC services, but to the relationships, I share with the couples and wedding venues. My modern, vibrant approach and dedication assisted with making Music With Memories the business it is today.
When I am not at weddings, I enjoy exploring the local area, visiting wineries, eating out, spending time with family and friends or going for a cruise in my VW Kombi.
