Nothing gives me greater pleasure when a couple visit the hotel looking to host their wedding at the same venue that their parents got married at 35 years ago.
Mrs & Mrs Soliman were married in The Gala Room in the late 1970’s, when the room featured red wallpaper and a bright lime green carpet. It was exciting to me that they brought it a couple of photos of the Gala Room on their wedding day.
Also Featured in the photos was Henry Gordon, with his trademark black rimmed glasses a duty manager who worked at Brighton Savoy from 1977 until his retirement in approximately 2005. Sadly Henry recently passed away and a wake with his family was held in his honor here at the hotel.
It was a pleasure to meet their son and his beautiful future bride, and we look forward to being given the opportunity to host their wedding reception later this year.
