Paynes Rise Wines is a small family-run vineyard and winery in the Upper Yarra Valley specializing in small-batch wines made from carefully selected fruit from their vineyard in Seville, Victoria. It is the culmination of Tim and Narelle Cullen's many years of dedication, hard work, and passion. Payne's Rise grew out of a deep affection for the Yarra Valley, its people, and its history. Tim and Narelle Cullen, the owners, run the company. Before building the Payne's Rise cellar door, both lived and worked in the Yarra Valley and ran local companies. Tim worked in a local orchard as a teenager while earning a business degree and a Viticulture diploma. Following that, Charles Sturt University offered an applied science degree in Viticulture. In 1999, he started working with a local agribusiness, and he continues to consult as an agronomist/viticulturist around the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula. Cabernet Sauvignon was the first variety planted in 1999. Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc are planted. Our vineyard and wines are still evolving. We've learned how to best harness the expression of location after 20 years of growing vines on our distinctive tiny property in Seville. As a result, our vineyard now has a distinct voice, which we hope to capture and express in clean and honest wines. Franco D'Anna is the man for the job. Since 2008, Franco has collaborated with Tim on several projects. No chemicals or enzymes are used in the winemaking process, which is a straightforward, conventional approach. The homestead, which was built in 1861 and was a private residence until 2015, when the grounds and several of the ancient buildings were opened to the public as a spectacular Pyrenees events site for activities like weddings and celebrations, as well as farm stay and holiday housing. About Chateau Wyuna Wedding Venue

Our goal is to create lasting memories by providing the couple with the wedding of their dreams. As a result, you can rest assured that we will make the process simple and fun for you, allowing you to focus on what really matters: commemorating a significant life milestone and making lasting memories. Clarence Earle, an Australian artist, designed Chateau Wyuna as his dream home. The original structures were built during a nine-year period in the early 1900s, inside a loop of the Olinda Creek in bellbird country.

The fireplaces and chimney were built initially, with an excellent stonemason placing the carefully picked stones according to Earle's specifications. Earle, with the help of Pat and Jim Clancy, constructed the main structure from here (who worked on and off with him for six years). A six-horse team cut, barked, and hauled the timber three miles to the location, where it was left to season for five years before being used. The biggest logs are 60 feet in length. The logs were left undisturbed except where they were broad-axe dressed to sit properly together. The adze was used to give a textured smooth finish to all square timbers, such as interior doors. The majority of the stringybark furniture is built-in. The marble bath, which was fed with water from the creek via a copper faucet, is the only non-local feature of the house. Dame Nellie Melba, a personal friend of Earle's and a frequent guest, requested that this modern amenity be added.

The Log Cabin was offered to the public as a restaurant called 'Chateau Wyuna' shortly after WWII, with this unique history. When in Melbourne, Burt Lancaster (the actor) was a notable guest. The name 'Wyuna' is derived from an aboriginal term that means 'onrushing streams.' The original buildings have been joined since WWII to create the location that it is now – intriguing, unique, character-filled, and old-world charm, making it a reception centre unlike any other. The Log Cabin is presently being used as a bridal getaway, complete with an ensuite and office.

The magnificent weatherboard church from Montrose was a charming addition to Chateau Wyuna in 1985. The former Church of Christ, which was built in 1909, became too small to house all of its attendees, so it was moved to its current location. Both the original log cottage and the chapel are on the National Register of Historic Places. The staff at Chateau Wyuna is proud of its history as well as the wedding and event services it provides. With a capacity for up to 150 people, the Burgundy Room is the largest of our two reception rooms. The Room is suitable for either lunches or dinners, with fairy lights above the dance floor and a big multi-purpose space called the Alpine Lounge (good for photo booths, children's play areas, or just a relaxing lounge area to retreat to). It has a lot of charm, with warm wood and a nice atmosphere. The bar is an original element of the home. The Treetop Room, which is set amongst a canopy of trees, features soothing colours and windows on two sides, providing panoramic views from the wrap-around balcony and rebuilt patio. It can accommodate up to 80 people, making it ideal for those looking for a more intimate setting. Our trek to Banyandah Homestead took several decades to complete. Our family has always resided in this wonderful corner of the world, and we raised our children on the adjacent farm for a long period. Driving the paddock blast to catch the school bus, early mornings spent feeding calves, countless days spent cleaning up the forest floor, large open landscapes, and lake fishing were all part of our upbringing and lifestyle.

We moved away from the area as our children grew older to explore other opportunities, but our hearts yearned to return to the place where we genuinely felt at home and to complete our dream. Except for cattle grazing and sleeping on the fertile meadow, the farming land where Banyandah lies has largely remained unchanged throughout the years. We were aware that the land was privately owned, and we made numerous attempts to acquire it before a chance arrived just as we were about to give up.

It was the best decision we've ever made, and it's turned into our own little slice of heaven. We've worked really hard to transform this lovely property into the incredible venue we knew it could be, and we're thrilled to be able to share it with some very special people on their most important day. The farm is called 'Banyandah' Homestead after the aboriginal phrase for 'house on the lake.' On the water, we have a lovely home. We are overjoyed that our vision is finally coming to fruition. Gum Gully Farm is the result of a lot of love, commitment, and a lot of hard work. Hand-made mud bricks, repurposed timbers, and a collection of vintage relics are used throughout to create a welcoming and personal atmosphere. The Barn is a place where you can go to

Rustic. Warm. Inviting. The Barn is the primary reception space, with two massive open fireplaces, a large outdoor verandah overlooking the paddocks, and a large open bar built of hand-made mud brick and old wood.

Locations For Ceremonies

Gum Gully Farm has a variety of ceremony venues, each with its own character. But don't worry, if the weather takes a turn for the worse, the Windmill Chapel has you covered with a backup plan.

Chapel of the Windmills

Our most popular ceremony setting is the Windmill Chapel, which is ideal regardless of the weather. There is seating for about 70 people in timber pews, with additional 30 people standing. There will be a signing table and chair available.

Fruit Vines of the Kiwi

With hay bales for seating up to 30 guests and standing room for the remainder, this is an intimate outdoor setting. A signing table and bench seat are available outside. Between October and April, the vines are at their peak.

Garden in the Subterranean

The Sunken Garden is a circular garden with bench seating for about 30 people and standing capacity for another 100 people.

Lawn/Stage

About Overnewton Castle Wedding Receptions

William Taylor completed Overnewton Castle in 1849. Just west of Keilor township, the Scotsman purchased 13,000 acres of prime grazing property. Taylor constructed a one-story bluestone colonial dwelling. There were six rooms in total, each with enormous shuttered windows and extensive verandahs. The homestead was perched on a slight incline above Keilor, with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. During the 1850s, Keilor grew in importance as a popular stopover for people heading to the Victorian goldfields. Two new schools, a new bridge, and a new hotel were among the projects.

The grandeur of William Taylor's dreams did not become clear until he returned from a journey to Scotland in 1859. He began transforming the working colonial household into a tiny Scottish Baronial Castle. The Stately two-storied wing was erected, as well as the bluestone Dairy & Butcher Shop and the Private Billiard Room, which is today utilized as a wedding chapel. Overnewton was designed in the Victorian Tudor style, which was influenced by architecture from the 16th century in England and Scotland. The rough textured masonry, deep pitched roofs, and overhanging battlement corner towers are all hallmarks of the Scottish baronial architecture. The influence of French architecture can be seen in the candle snuffer roofs. The estate's bluestone walls were mined on-site and finished with yellow gravel and stucco. The Taylor family crest - a mailed arm and fist enclosing a dagger and the motto "Semper Fidelis" (always faithful) – is carved above the huge windows of the main bedroom, and the carved initials of HT, T 1859, and WT are carved above numerous other windows.

The farmhouse had over 35 rooms after this addition was completed, including 7 bedrooms (the master bedroom had a tiny circle room and a dressing room), a schoolroom, library, drawing room, 2 kitchens, 5 servants rooms, and the Billiard room. Many original features remain, including tiles in the baths, a claw foot tub, and an ancient IXL wood burner in the kitchen. A bluestone butchery and dairy, lamp room, boot room, coachhouse, stables, woolshed, shearing sheds, and machine shed are among the estate's outbuildings. William Taylor died in 1903 at the age of 85, and his wife Helen died six months later at the age of 71. Their eldest son, William Henry, managed the estate until his death in 1939 at the age of 81, and his wife, Beatrice, died in 1948. The Taylor family owned the estate until 1959.

In 1959, the Carr family bought Overnewton. They used part of the property as a family home and the lower rooms as a wedding reception centre while raising their three children there. Dr. L. J. Norton bought Overnewton Estate in 1975 with the intention of raising his family there. The property has undergone numerous modifications and changes since then, including the installation of mains water in 1976 and the fire that destroyed the old timber stables in 1980. Dr. Norton purchased 6 acres of land, which included a drystone wall and some of the ancient outbuildings, from the original owners.

Overnewton has weathered the years well, and it looks much the same today as it did when it was first erected. It has undergone various alterations throughout the years, hidden among the old trees. Horses and carriages, gas lights, and servants are no longer in use, but the old-world grace and charm, as well as the elegance, grandeur, and ambience of a bygone era, remain. The estate has been refurbished over the years, and a beautiful dining room has been built to the estate, making it a true hidden gem.

RJM's is a cosy wine bar run by a family. RJM's is known for being a hidden gem, offering a wonderful and private alfresco space as well as indoor dining with an art deco flair. Relax in our Blue room by the log fire, or take advantage of our lovely, secluded and private patio space. Outdoor dining is available in a serene environment with hanging vines, gardens, and a water feature. The lovely ambience is created at night by the fairy lights and candles. On chilly days and evenings, a warm log fire and gas heaters will keep you warm. On most Friday nights, join friends for a great night of live music, or enjoy a relaxing Sunday afternoon brunch. On Sunday afternoons, you can participate in our "Sip & Savour" event, which includes a wine and small-plates tasting. While our hallmark dish is still cheese platters, our seasonally changing menu also includes a variety of additional platters, entrees, and food to share. We also serve excellent coffee, T2, and sweets, as well as a wide selection of alcohol and cocktails. RJM's Wine Bar focuses on high-quality local wines that are affordable. We have a rotating selection of eighty local wines by the bottle and twelve by the glass. There is plenty of free parking outside RJM's.

We build experiences and lifelong memories at Cave Hill Creek, whether it's the joy of school camp, the thrill of walking the Beeripmo Track, or the treasured location where you got married! We are well-known and well-respected for our innovative, high-quality, and enjoyable activities, as well as our real warmth and beautiful natural surroundings. We won Gold at the Australian Tourism Awards in 2018. Ian and Julie Chandler established Cave Hill Creek in 1988. Cave Hill Creek was then just a sheep pasture with around 25 mature trees, no lake, buildings, or lovely gardens. On this magnificent tract of property at the top of the Raglan Valley, a farmer and a teacher spotted an extraordinary chance to develop a spectacular lake, group accommodation, and function venue.

Cave Hill Creek evolved steadily with a passion for hospitality, hard labour, and a keen eye for the environment, much like their young family. Tim and Angela Chandler, second-generation owners, now run Cave Hill Creek. It's a year-round organization that hosts over 10,000 people each year during camps, walks, and weddings. Guests are rewarded with fresh and interesting experiences every time they visit because of a commitment to tourism and education excellence, as well as a continuous improvement initiative. Cave Hill Creek was honoured with a gold medal at the Australian Tourism Awards in 2018 and was entered into the renowned Victorian Tourism Hall of Fame after receiving three gold medals in a row at the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards.

The origins of the term Cave Hill Creek are frequently enquired about. It's actually fairly straightforward; the creek that runs through our lake is called 'Cave Hill Creek.' In the Mount Cole State Forest, Cave Hill Creek spills over Raglan Falls and down the northern slopes of Cave Hill. Visitors to Cave Hill Creek can try abseiling at Raglan Falls, which is located on the granite cliffs. The roots of the term Cave Hill follow a similar rationale. For instance, on Cave Hill's southern slopes, a vast cavern was formed when the lower half of a large rock wall fell, creating a large overhang. The cave is known as Bukkertillible by the nearby Beeripmo Balug aborigines. When driving between Beaufort and Buangor on the Western Highway M8, it may be seen easily to the north. The emblem for Cave Hill Creek was likewise inspired by the nearby woodland. It has a Grevillea montis-cole that is in bloom (commonly known as Grevillea Mount Cole or The Glut Grevillea). From the Glut picnic site to Cave Hill Creek, the grevillea is indigenous to the eastern slopes. It's a tiny shrub with a red blossom that blooms from October to March. In Victoria, Grevillea montis-cole is classified as uncommon.
