Michael Lee | Hospitality & Consumer Research, Brighton Savoy

Written by: Michael Lee | Consumer Research, Brighton Savoy

Michael Lee is the former Managing Director of Brighton Savoy and oversees its development as an independent Australian publishing, historical archive and consumer research platform. His family operated the landmark Brighton beachfront hotel, wedding venue, restaurant and function centre for decades, giving Michael extensive first-hand experience across weddings, hospitality, catering, accommodation, events and business management. This experience is directly relevant to Brighton Savoy’s current editorial focus on weddings and hospitality.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance), an Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Studies, and a Certificate of Catering from William Angliss College.

During his years at Brighton Savoy, Michael worked directly with wedding couples, families, corporate clients, event organisers, accommodation guests, hospitality professionals and wedding suppliers. This practical experience provides an industry perspective on issues such as service, catering, guest experience, venue capacity, accessibility, accommodation, event logistics and wet-weather planning.

Today, Michael combines his formal qualifications and decades of practical hospitality experience with contemporary research to produce and oversee Brighton Savoy’s guides covering weddings, wedding venues, hospitality, accommodation, travel, catering and consumer topics.
