How It All Began
I started out doing my hairdressing apprenticeship in the late 1980’s at Katan/Kabu, a high-end salon in High St Armadale Melbourne.
Once I completed my 4 year apprenticeship,I stayed on at the salon for a couple more years and also studied makeup artistry at Flagstaff College.
In the early 1990’s I branched out on my own and for the last 27 years I have freelanced, working in the fashion, advertising, music and bridal industries. I have been fortunate enough to have worked on some very exciting jobs both here in Australia and overseas, with some incredibly talented international recording artists including; Tina Arena, Vanessa Amorosi, Ricky Martin, JImmy Barnes, Kylie Minogue, Lauren Hill and actress Madeleine West.
Around 18 years ago I started volunteering as a hair and makeup artist for the non-profit organization Choose Cruelty Free
If we want to use makeup and other beauty and personal care products then we should do it ethically.
All products I work with, are vegan friendly and created by ethical, humane companies that are listed on the Choose Cruelty Free Shopping Guide.

How did you grow to love makeup so much?
Makeup was something I grew to love the minute I dabbled in its magic. Initially it was a means to cover my perceived imperfections. But now, it provides me with a creative outlet that I thrive on.
Like most beginners, I made the common mistake of using a foundation that was two shades darker than my actual skin tone! From applying foundation alone, I began experimenting with other products – eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow etc.. And as my collection of products grew, so did my curiosity. The moment I discovered that makeup is about enhancing and complementing your features, rather than picking out flaws to cover up, it became an art to me, with no set rules. I explored and experimented with various tools, colours and techniques and experienced first hand that unless you feel good with the makeup you have on, you are not truly experiencing the magic makeup can possess.
From there, my love affair and fascination with makeup exponentially grew and grew.
Where has your journey taken you so far?
What started out as a routine, later became a hobby. With persistence, practice and passion, I made it my mission to learn about which techniques work best for me. I enrolled myself into a course, graduated, met like minded entrepreneurs and have been to places I only ever dreamed of. I’ve worked at fashion shows, film shoots, photo shoots as well as with numerous brides, to name a few. As my experience with make up grew, so did my makeup kit! Not only do I use quality products, I use multiple brands to suit every skin type and ensuring long lasting and flawless finishes.
