Best Food Truck Hire Melbourne 2026: Food Trucks for Weddings, Corporate Events & Parties

Thinking about hiring a food truck in Melbourne for a wedding, corporate function, birthday or private event?

It’s easy to understand the attraction.

Instead of moving food from a commercial kitchen to an event space, a food truck can bring much of the kitchen directly to your guests.

Melbourne’s event food-truck scene now includes everything from wood-fired pizza and handmade pasta to Vietnamese street food, tacos, burgers, Mediterranean food and complete mobile kitchens capable of catering a wedding reception.

But choosing a food truck isn’t simply a matter of deciding whether you prefer pizza or tacos.

You also need to think about:

  • how many guests the truck can serve
  • how quickly they can be served
  • vehicle access
  • parking and ground conditions
  • power and water
  • dietary requirements
  • weather
  • rubbish
  • service time
  • venue restrictions
  • whether you need one truck or several.

Having operated as a Melbourne hotel, wedding venue and function centre for more than five decades, the team behind Brighton Savoy knows that mobile catering can work brilliantly, but the logistics matter just as much as the menu.

We’ve researched Melbourne food-truck operators currently promoting catering for weddings, corporate events and private celebrations to create this updated 2026 guide to food truck hire in Melbourne.

Last researched and updated: 25 August 2026

Pricing note: Where a business publicly advertises prices, we’ve included them as a useful starting point. Packages, minimum spends, travel charges and inclusions can change, so always obtain a current written quotation before booking.

Best Food Trucks for Hire in Melbourne

1. Happy Camper Pizza

Best for: Weddings and relaxed celebrations
Cuisine: Wood-fired pizza
Wedding catering: Yes
Dietary options: Vegan and gluten-free options advertised
Published pricing: From $36 per adult

Happy Camper Pizza is one of Melbourne’s better-known mobile pizza caterers and has been catering events since 2013.

Its vintage vehicles bring wood-fired pizza directly to weddings, corporate functions and private celebrations.

What makes Happy Camper particularly useful for this guide is the amount of information it publishes before customers enquire.

At the time of our August 2026 research, packages included:

  • Classic all-you-can-eat pizza: $36 per adult
  • Gourmet pizza: $38 per adult
  • Pizza + gelato: $44 per adult
  • Pizza + shared grazing boards: $52 per adult
  • Pizza, grazing boards, salad + gelato: $64 per adult
  • Pizza, canapés, grazing boards, salad + gelato: $77 per adult.

Prices were advertised as including GST.

Service timing is also clearly explained.

Happy Camper includes approximately 1.5 hours of pizza service for events of 50–100 guests and 2.5 hours for events above 100 guests.

It generally provides two pizza chefs for up to 80 guests and adds another chef for each additional 40 guests.

That’s exactly the type of information couples should be asking every food-truck caterer.

Brighton Savoy view: A particularly strong option to investigate if you want a relaxed pizza wedding but still want structured packages and clear service planning.

2. Pasta Face

Best for: Premium Italian weddings and events
Cuisine: Handmade pasta and Italian food
Weddings: Yes
Corporate: Yes
Regional Victoria: Yes
Self-contained: Yes

Pasta Face sits somewhere between a traditional food truck and a full-service event caterer.

It operates purpose-built mobile commercial kitchens and provides catering for weddings, corporate functions, private celebrations, winery weddings and regional Victorian events.

Its food-truck menus can include gourmet pasta and Italian street food, while other service formats include roaming cocktail catering and shared sit-down dining.

One of its biggest advantages is independence from venue infrastructure.

Pasta Face states that its mobile kitchen carries its own generator and onboard water system. If venue power is preferred, it requires two 15-amp power points near the setup area.

The truck itself is approximately:

  • 5.8 metres long
  • 2.4 metres wide
  • 3.6 metres high.

That illustrates why venue access needs to be considered before booking any mobile caterer.

Pasta Face also advertises vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free catering when requirements are provided in advance.

Brighton Savoy view: Particularly interesting for private-property, winery and regional weddings where there may not be a suitable commercial kitchen onsite.

3. Cornutopia

Best for: Mexican food and tacos
Events: Weddings, corporate events, birthdays and festivals
Regional Victoria: Yes
Published minimum spend: $2,160 ex GST

Cornutopia has been operating since 2011 and describes itself as one of Melbourne’s original Mexican food trucks.

Its event catering covers weddings, engagement parties, office lunches, corporate functions, birthdays, university events, festivals and community functions.

The business says it has catered hundreds of weddings and offers a menu that is predominantly gluten-free, with vegan and vegetarian choices also available.

At the time of our research, Cornutopia published a minimum booking spend of $2,160 excluding GST, covering food, staffing, setup, service and cleanup, with travel charged separately where applicable.

That’s useful because minimum spends are common in mobile catering but aren’t always clearly disclosed online.

Brighton Savoy view: One of the more established options to investigate if tacos and Mexican food suit the atmosphere of your event.

4. Nem N’ Nem

Best for: Vietnamese street food
Events: Weddings, corporate events and private parties
Cuisine: Bánh mì, bao and vermicelli bowls
Corporate pricing: From $35 per person

Nem N’ Nem is a family-run Melbourne Vietnamese food-truck business operating since 2014.

It currently runs two food trucks and caters weddings, corporate events and private parties across Melbourne and Victoria.

For corporate events, the business offers three published packages:

Team Lunch – $35 pp
Main plus one side or bite.

Street Feast – $55 pp
Main plus two sides or bites.

Celebration – $75 pp
Main, three sides or bites and dessert.

The corporate packages include two hours of hot service, two cooks, setup and pack-down.

There are minimum spends that vary according to season and day of the week. Travel within 25 kilometres of Cheltenham is included in its corporate package, with additional travel quoted beyond that area.

Guests can choose options including bánh mì, burger bao and vermicelli bowls, with meat and vegetarian/vegan selections.

Brighton Savoy view: Particularly strong for corporate catering because its current pricing, minimum-spend structure and inclusions are unusually transparent.

5. CarmEli Catering

Best for: Combining food and bar service
Events: Weddings, corporate events and private functions
Published food-truck package: $58 per person at the time of research

CarmEli takes an interesting approach by combining food and drinks from the same truck.

Its custom-built truck incorporates a commercial kitchen alongside an ice-bank beverage system with 11 drink taps.

That could be particularly useful for private-property weddings where you might otherwise need to arrange:

  • food caterer
  • mobile bar
  • refrigeration
  • drinks service

separately.

At the time of our research, CarmEli advertised its most popular food-truck catering option at $58 per person.

The company caters weddings, corporate functions and private events and can add equipment for higher-volume functions.

Brighton Savoy view: An interesting option where simplifying the number of external suppliers is important.

6. Al Fonzie

Best for: Weddings, parties and corporate events
Cuisine: Contemporary street food, rolls and slow-cooked meats
Corporate catering: Yes

Al Fonzie is a relatively newer Melbourne food-truck operation, established in 2023.

It caters weddings, birthdays, corporate events and private celebrations around Melbourne.

For corporate customers, it specifically promotes:

  • office lunches
  • staff appreciation events
  • corporate parties
  • product launches.

The business highlights fast service and can tailor packages around event size, timing and dietary requirements.

For private events, it also promotes catering for milestone birthdays, backyard parties and engagements.

Brighton Savoy view: Worth adding to the quote list if you’re after substantial street-food-style meals rather than small cocktail portions.

7. Wesh Food Truck

Best for: Mediterranean and North African food
Cuisine: Mediterranean, Algerian and North African
Weddings: Yes
Corporate: Yes
Halal offering: Promoted by the supplier

Wesh brings something quite different to Melbourne’s food-truck scene.

Its menu draws on Mediterranean and North African flavours, with dishes including kofta, merguez, shakshouka and Mediterranean salads.

It caters weddings, corporate events, birthdays and festivals and also promotes buffet and finger-food formats.

Wesh also specifically markets itself as a halal food truck, although anyone requiring formal certification for religious reasons should always confirm the exact certification and preparation arrangements directly before booking.

Brighton Savoy view: Particularly interesting for multicultural events or hosts wanting something beyond the usual pizza-burger-taco combination.

8. Mr Fresh Truck

Best for: Large events, corporate functions and casual catering
Cuisine: Burgers, wraps, fries, ice cream and snacks
Service area: Melbourne and Victoria
Self-contained: Yes

Mr Fresh Truck has been operating in Victoria for more than 35 years and caters everything from private functions to major community events.

The business offers several mobile setups, including a hot-food truck, traditional ice cream van and twisty-potato marquee.

Its hot-food menu includes burgers, schnitzels, wraps, flathead tails and chips.

One significant logistical advantage is that its vans are self-contained, with internal generators and gas systems, meaning the supplier states that it doesn’t require venue power or water.

Mr Fresh Truck also says it carries $20 million public liability insurance and operates a food-safety program.

Brighton Savoy view: Particularly worth considering for large, casual or outdoor events where a self-contained truck is an advantage.

9. El Chivi

Best for: Relaxed weddings, parties and South American flavours
Cuisine: Uruguayan-style steak sandwiches, sliders and sides

El Chivi brings Uruguayan-inspired street food to Melbourne events.

Its published catering information offers both traditional truck-window service and more structured slider packages.

At the time of our research, traditional truck service had a $1,500 minimum spend excluding GST for a minimum of 50 people.

Published slider options included:

  • one slider + fries: $15 pp
  • two sliders + fries + jalapeño poppers: $25 pp
  • unlimited sliders + fries + jalapeño poppers: $35 pp

with a $1,500 minimum spend.

Because packages can change, confirm those figures before relying on them for an event budget.

Brighton Savoy view: A distinctive option if you want something different from the more common pizza or burger trucks.

10. Beatbox Kitchen

Best for: Burgers and casual Melbourne events
Cuisine: Burgers and fries

Beatbox Kitchen is one of Melbourne’s better-known original food-truck brands.

The business remains active in 2026, including appearances at major Melbourne events, and its parent hospitality group promotes catering for corporate events ranging from office lunches to larger company functions.

Its core appeal is simple:

burgers + fries + an established Melbourne food-truck identity.

Brighton Savoy view: Particularly suited to casual corporate functions and celebrations where you want a recognisable Melbourne street-food experience.

11. Taco Truck

Best for: Taco weddings and casual events
Cuisine: Tacos

Taco Truck comes from the same Melbourne hospitality group as Beatbox Kitchen and remains available within the Melbourne events market.

Recent customer reviews also specifically reference Taco Truck catering Melbourne weddings.

Tacos have several advantages for event catering.

They’re:

  • handheld
  • relatively quick to eat
  • suitable for cocktail-style events
  • easy to offer with different fillings
  • naturally suited to relaxed outdoor celebrations.

Brighton Savoy view: Worth investigating if you want a recognisable Melbourne taco truck rather than a broader Mexican catering menu.

12. Event Food Truck Hire

Best for: Larger events and organisers wanting multiple cuisines
Events: Weddings, corporate functions, festivals and brand activations
Cuisine: Multiple options

Event Food Truck Hire operates differently from a single-cuisine food truck.

It promotes a broader mobile-catering service covering options such as:

  • burgers
  • tacos
  • wood-fired pizza
  • bao
  • sliders
  • dessert trucks.

It also targets corporate brand activations, including customised truck branding and packaging.

This type of service may be particularly useful when you need multiple trucks rather than trying to coordinate several independent businesses yourself.

Brighton Savoy view: Worth investigating for larger functions, festivals or corporate activations where coordination may matter as much as cuisine.

What Types of Food Trucks Can You Hire in Melbourne?

Melbourne’s food-truck scene is much broader than burgers.

Pizza Trucks

Pizza is one of the most wedding-friendly food-truck formats because pizzas can be produced continuously and shared.

Happy Camper is an obvious Melbourne example.

Pasta Trucks

Pasta Face demonstrates how far food-truck catering has moved beyond simple street food, with fresh pasta prepared from a purpose-built mobile commercial kitchen.

Taco and Mexican Trucks

Cornutopia and Taco Truck provide different approaches to Mexican-style mobile catering.

Vietnamese Food Trucks

Nem N’ Nem offers bánh mì, bao and vermicelli bowls, giving guests a choice of meals.

Burger Trucks

Beatbox Kitchen and Mr Fresh Truck provide classic burger-style mobile catering.

Mediterranean Food Trucks

Wesh adds Mediterranean and North African food to the mix.

Dessert Trucks

You don’t necessarily have to serve the main meal from a truck.

You could use conventional catering for dinner and bring in a dessert cart or truck later.

See our guide to dessert cart hire in Melbourne for gelato, cannoli, doughnuts, churros and other mobile dessert options.

corporate food truck catering in melbourne

How Much Does Food Truck Hire Cost in Melbourne?

There is no single standard price.

During our August 2026 research, current published examples included:

Supplier Published example
Happy Camper Pizza From $36 pp
Nem N’ Nem corporate From $35 pp
CarmEli Catering Popular package $58 pp
Cornutopia $2,160 ex GST minimum spend
El Chivi $1,500 ex GST minimum spend

These are not directly comparable packages.

One might include unlimited food, another a set menu, another staffing, and another might impose a minimum spend regardless of guest numbers.

That’s why comparing only the headline price can be misleading.

Are Food Trucks Cheaper Than Traditional Wedding Catering?

Sometimes.

But not automatically.

A food truck can reduce the need for a full commercial kitchen and may require fewer front-of-house staff than a formal plated dinner.

But you still need to consider:

  • minimum spend
  • food per person
  • travel
  • staffing
  • waiters
  • plates and cutlery
  • drinks
  • dessert
  • rubbish removal
  • generator charges
  • additional service time
  • venue fees.

If you’re comparing food trucks with conventional wedding catering, see our guide to Melbourne wedding caterers.

Compare the complete event cost, not just the advertised cost of the food.

How Many Guests Can One Food Truck Serve?

This depends heavily on the food.

A truck handing guests pre-prepared sandwiches can potentially move faster than a truck cooking individual dishes to order.

As a rough planning framework:

Around 50 Guests

Many experienced event trucks should be able to handle this relatively comfortably.

Around 100 Guests

One well-equipped truck may be suitable, but you need to discuss serving speed.

150–200 Guests

Guest flow becomes considerably more important.

More Than 200 Guests

Multiple service points or multiple trucks may be worth considering.

These aren’t hard industry limits.

The question you should actually ask is:

“How many guests can you realistically serve per hour with the menu we’re choosing?”

How Many Food Trucks Do I Need for 150 Wedding Guests?

Possibly one.

Possibly two.

It depends on:

  • cuisine
  • menu complexity
  • cooking time
  • number of staff
  • number of service windows
  • how long you’ve allocated for dinner
  • whether everyone orders individually.

Happy Camper, for example, publishes a staffing model that adds an additional pizza chef for each 40 guests above its initial staffing level and extends service time for events over 100 guests.

That is the kind of capacity planning you want to see.

For a 150-person wedding, ask each caterer:

“We have 150 guests and want everyone fed between 7 pm and 8:30 pm. Can you comfortably achieve that with one truck?”

Don’t simply ask whether they “cater weddings of 150”.

Those are different questions.

Food Truck Hire for Melbourne Weddings

Food trucks can work beautifully for weddings, particularly if you don’t want a traditional three-course reception.

There are several ways to use them.

Full Wedding Dinner

The food truck replaces the traditional caterer.

This works particularly well for:

  • private-property weddings
  • winery weddings
  • marquee weddings
  • warehouse weddings
  • garden weddings
  • relaxed cocktail receptions.

Cocktail Hour

A truck can provide smaller items before the main reception.

Multiple Food Trucks

Guests choose between different cuisines.

For example:

pizza + tacos + Vietnamese.

This can create a mini food festival.

But remember that three trucks also means three suppliers, three arrival schedules and potentially three different power/access requirements.

Late-Night Food

This is one of our favourite uses.

You can have a conventional wedding dinner and bring a truck in later.

Imagine dancing for two hours and then discovering:

  • pizza
  • burgers
  • tacos
  • bánh mì
  • fries

appearing at 10:30 pm.

That’s likely to be remembered.

If you’re still assembling the rest of your wedding team, our complete Melbourne wedding suppliers guide is a useful starting point.

late night food truck at a melbourne wedding

Late-Night Food Trucks for Melbourne Weddings

A late-night food truck doesn’t need to cater for exactly the same quantity as your main meal.

Not every guest will eat again.

But don’t underestimate how popular hot food can become after several hours of dancing and drinking.

Ask the supplier about:

  • recommended quantity
  • arrival time
  • setup time
  • service duration
  • whether guests order individually
  • whether a smaller late-night menu would speed service.

You can also combine late-night food with mobile coffee cart hire in Melbourne.

Pizza and proper espresso at 11 pm could be a very effective combination.

Corporate Food Truck Hire Melbourne

Food trucks can work particularly well for corporate events because they can bring the kitchen directly to:

  • offices
  • warehouses
  • factories
  • universities
  • car parks
  • showrooms
  • outdoor spaces.

Typical uses include:

  • staff appreciation days
  • office lunches
  • Christmas parties
  • EOFY functions
  • product launches
  • conferences
  • warehouse functions
  • brand activations.

Nem N’ Nem, for example, currently promotes corporate packages with two cooks and two hours of hot service, while Al Fonzie specifically targets office lunches, staff appreciation events, corporate parties and product launches.

For a corporate event, ask about:

  • tax invoices
  • public liability insurance
  • dietary labelling
  • serving speed
  • arrival procedures
  • loading access
  • branding opportunities.

Food Truck vs Traditional Catering

Consideration Food truck Traditional caterer
Atmosphere Interactive and casual Can range from casual to very formal
Kitchen Often onboard Usually venue or temporary kitchen
Menu Usually specialised Often broader
Guest choice Often strong Depends on package
Service Window or roaming Waitstaff/table service
Queues Possible Usually less visible
Weather exposure Potentially higher Usually lower
Private properties Often excellent Depends on kitchen facilities
Formal plated dinner Less suited Excellent
Corporate outdoor events Excellent Depends on setup
Pricing Wide range Wide range

Neither format is inherently better.

It depends on the event you want.

Food Trucks for Private-Property and Backyard Weddings

This is where mobile kitchens can really shine.

A private property may have a perfectly good domestic kitchen, but that doesn’t mean it can handle catering for 150 people.

A purpose-built food truck brings commercial equipment onsite.

Pasta Face, for example, operates with onboard water and generator capacity, allowing it to work at locations without traditional catering infrastructure.

But you still need to consider:

  • driveway width
  • truck height
  • turning space
  • ground surface
  • slopes
  • trees
  • lighting
  • guest access
  • toilets
  • rubbish
  • neighbours.

Don’t discover on the wedding day that the truck can’t get through the gate.

What Happens if It Rains?

This is one of the biggest weaknesses of food-truck weddings if it hasn’t been planned properly.

The truck itself may be perfectly weatherproof.

Your guests aren’t.

If guests have to queue outside, you need a wet-weather plan.

Consider:

  • covered queue area
  • marquee
  • umbrellas
  • proximity to the reception space
  • lighting
  • drainage
  • wind
  • electrical safety.

Also consider the ground.

A heavy catering truck parked on a lawn after significant Melbourne rain may create an entirely different problem.

Discuss the wet-weather location before the event, not when the first drops start falling.

Will Your Melbourne Wedding Venue Allow Food Trucks?

Never assume.

Before paying a deposit, ask your venue:

  • Are external food trucks permitted?
  • Is there suitable vehicle access?
  • What is the maximum vehicle height?
  • Are there weight restrictions?
  • Is LPG permitted?
  • Are generators permitted?
  • Is power available?
  • Is water available?
  • Where can the truck park?
  • Can it remain onsite during the reception?
  • Is there a loading time restriction?
  • Is public liability insurance required?
  • Are council permits required?
  • Who removes rubbish?
  • Where will guests queue?
  • What is the wet-weather plan?

Our guide to questions to ask before booking a wedding venue covers external catering and many other venue considerations.

If you’re still looking for the venue itself, browse our guide to 100+ Melbourne wedding venues.

Food Truck Hire in Melbourne CBD

CBD events create different problems from suburban or regional events.

A food truck may require:

  • loading-zone access
  • private car park
  • loading dock
  • height clearance
  • council approval
  • security access.

A full-sized truck obviously can’t be rolled through a service lift like a coffee cart.

If you’re holding a CBD corporate event, send the food-truck operator photographs and dimensions of the proposed location before confirming the booking.

Food Truck Hire in the Yarra Valley

Food trucks can work particularly well for Yarra Valley winery and private-property weddings.

Ask about:

  • travel charges
  • late-night return charges
  • winery restrictions
  • vehicle access
  • generator use
  • ground surface
  • wet-weather positioning
  • setup times.

Pasta Face specifically promotes mobile catering for winery venues, estates and regional Victorian weddings.

Food Truck Hire on the Mornington Peninsula

For Mornington Peninsula weddings, the same principles apply.

Give the supplier the exact venue, not simply “Mornington Peninsula”, when requesting a quote.

Travel to Mornington is very different from travelling to Portsea.

For private properties, confirm whether a large truck can physically access the proposed service area.

Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Halal and Allergy Requirements

Food trucks can often cater extremely well for dietary preferences.

But there’s an important difference between:

“We have a gluten-free menu item.”

and:

“We can safely cater for someone with coeliac disease.”

Ask about:

  • shared fryers
  • preparation surfaces
  • utensils
  • storage
  • gluten contamination
  • nut handling
  • separate cooking areas.

Pasta Face advertises vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free catering when requirements are advised in advance.

Cornutopia describes its menu as predominantly gluten-free and also offers vegan and vegetarian options.

Nem N’ Nem advertises vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options for corporate catering.

For halal or kosher requirements, ask about certification and preparation procedures rather than assuming a dish qualifies from its ingredients alone.

What Should You Ask Before Hiring a Food Truck?

Before booking, ask:

  1. How many guests can you serve per hour?
  2. How many staff will attend?
  3. How long is the service period?
  4. What is your minimum spend?
  5. Is pricing per person or per serve?
  6. Is travel included?
  7. Are setup and pack-down included?
  8. What are the truck dimensions?
  9. How much space do you need?
  10. What type of ground surface is required?
  11. Do you require power?
  12. Do you require water?
  13. Do you have a generator?
  14. Do you use LPG?
  15. What dietary requirements can you cater for?
  16. How do you manage serious allergies?
  17. Are plates, napkins and cutlery included?
  18. Do you remove your own rubbish?
  19. Do you hold public liability insurance?
  20. Do we need a council or venue permit?
  21. What happens if it rains?
  22. What happens if your truck breaks down?
  23. Can you provide extra staff or waiters?
  24. What happens if guest numbers increase?
  25. What are your cancellation terms?

For weddings, also ask:

“How long will it take you to feed every guest?”

That’s probably more important than almost anything else.

Frequently Asked Questions About Food Truck Hire Melbourne

How much does food truck hire cost in Melbourne?

There is no standard price. Current published Melbourne examples include Happy Camper pizza packages from $36 per adult, Nem N’ Nem corporate catering from $35 per person, CarmEli’s popular package at $58 per person, and minimum spends from operators such as Cornutopia and El Chivi. Always compare the full inclusions rather than headline price alone.

Are food trucks cheaper than wedding caterers?

They can be, but not necessarily. Travel, staffing, minimum spends, extra service time, drinks, dessert, rubbish, waitstaff and multiple trucks can substantially affect the final price.

Can one food truck cater for 100 guests?

Often yes, depending on the truck, menu and service period. Ask how many guests the operator can realistically serve per hour.

How many food trucks do I need for 150 guests?

One experienced high-capacity truck may be sufficient, but two may create faster service and greater menu choice. Ask each supplier to estimate how long it would take to feed all 150 guests.

Can food trucks cater an entire wedding?

Yes. Some Melbourne operators provide complete wedding packages incorporating mains, grazing, salads, dessert and staffing.

Can I hire a food truck just for late-night wedding food?

Yes. A food truck can arrive later in the reception to serve pizza, burgers, tacos or other hot food without replacing your main caterer.

Do Melbourne wedding venues allow food trucks?

Some do and some don’t. Always ask the venue about vehicle access, external catering, power, LPG, generators, insurance and council requirements before paying the supplier’s deposit.

Do food trucks need electricity?

Some do. Others are self-contained. Pasta Face and Mr Fresh Truck, for example, advertise onboard generator capacity.

Do food trucks need water?

It depends on the vehicle. Some carry onboard fresh and wastewater systems. Ask the supplier rather than assuming.

What happens if it rains?

The truck may still operate, but guests need somewhere dry to queue and eat. You should agree on a wet-weather service location before the event.

Can food trucks cater for vegan guests?

Many can. Confirm the number of vegan guests in advance so appropriate quantities can be prepared.

Can food trucks cater safely for coeliac guests?

Some may be able to, but “gluten-free option” doesn’t automatically mean coeliac-safe. Ask specifically about preparation surfaces, shared fryers, utensils and cross-contamination.

Can I hire a halal food truck in Melbourne?

Yes. Some Melbourne operators promote halal menus or halal food-truck service. If certification is important, request evidence directly from the caterer.

Do food trucks travel to the Yarra Valley?

Many Melbourne food trucks cater regional weddings and events, although travel fees may apply.

Do food trucks travel to the Mornington Peninsula?

Many do. Provide the exact venue when requesting a quote because travel distances vary substantially across the Peninsula.

Are food trucks suitable for corporate events?

Yes. They’re particularly well suited to staff lunches, warehouse events, product launches, office celebrations and outdoor corporate functions.

How far in advance should I book?

Popular Saturdays and peak wedding dates can book well in advance. Happy Camper specifically advises that weekend wedding demand can be high. Once your date and venue are confirmed, start requesting quotes.

How We Researched This Melbourne Food Truck Guide

Brighton Savoy operated as a Melbourne hotel, wedding reception venue and function centre for more than five decades before transitioning into an online wedding, hospitality and consumer information resource.

That experience taught us that catering isn’t only about whether the food tastes good.

For mobile catering, practical considerations can be just as important:

  • Can the truck access the venue?
  • How quickly can it feed 150 people?
  • What happens in bad weather?
  • Does it need power?
  • Where do guests queue?
  • Who removes the rubbish?
  • Can dietary requirements be handled safely?

For this 2026 guide, we researched Melbourne food-truck businesses currently promoting catering for weddings, corporate functions or private events.

We considered:

  • current evidence of operation
  • Melbourne and Victorian service coverage
  • wedding suitability
  • corporate-event experience
  • cuisine
  • service formats
  • published pricing
  • minimum spends
  • dietary options
  • logistical information
  • regional availability
  • serving capacity where disclosed.

Inclusion doesn’t mean Brighton Savoy has personally hired or taste-tested every food truck, nor does inclusion constitute a guarantee or paid endorsement.

Menus, prices, minimum spends and availability can change.

Always confirm current details directly with the caterer before booking.

You can learn more about our hospitality background and editorial approach on the About Brighton Savoy page.

Planning the Rest of Your Melbourne Event?

Mobile catering doesn’t have to stop with the main meal.

Final Thoughts: Choosing the Best Food Truck for Your Melbourne Event

The best Melbourne food truck isn’t necessarily the one with the most Instagram followers or the cheapest price per person.

Start with your event.

If you’re planning a relaxed wedding, wood-fired pizza might be ideal.

For an Italian private-property wedding, a mobile pasta kitchen could create a completely different experience.

For a corporate lunch, Vietnamese bánh mì and bao may allow people to eat quickly without interrupting the entire working day.

For a multicultural wedding, Mediterranean, Mexican or other international street food can become part of the celebration.

And sometimes the best use of a food truck isn’t dinner at all.

It might be the truck that suddenly arrives at 10:30 pm with burgers, tacos or pizza after everyone has been dancing for two hours.

Before booking, compare:

food + price + capacity + service speed + staffing + vehicle access + weather plan + dietary requirements + total cost.

A good food truck provides catering.

A great food truck becomes part of the event.
