Beach wedding ceremonies in Melbourne.

The Brighton Savoy is a beachfront wedding venue and hotel, located directly across the road from one of Melbourne’s finest beaches. Brighton Beach provides the perfect setting for a beach wedding ceremony for couples wanting a beach atmosphere to celebrate their wedding nuptials.

When you picture a beach wedding, the first thing your dream about is that picture-perfect day, with no wind, a few seagulls flying, and a romantic yacht at full sail whilst you say I Do. To assist in making your dream a reality I have come up with seven things to consider when planning a beach wedding ceremony

1. Melbourne’s Weather

Your dream wedding day would be about 25 degrees, blue skies, and no wind….. Unfortunately, this is Melbourne, and it takes a brave bride and groom to plan a beach wedding ceremony without some form of back up. To put your concerns about inclement weather at ease, the Brighton Savoy offers a Beach ceremonies back up option. This option is only available in conjunction with our wedding reception packages.

2. Guests Amenity

To ensure that your beach ceremony runs smoothly, it’s essential to ensure that your guests are having a positive experience. Especially in the warmer months, you may wish to consider the need for shade, seating, and hydration. Wedding styling companies can set up seating for all your guests, provide pop up marquees, and provide a range of styling options.

3. Consider your shoes

Those fabulous heels will serve may serve you well, but if you are planning a ceremony on the sand, you will need to consider what shoes you want to be walking on the sand.  A stylish flat sandal might be in order for the ceremony, with a quick change for your wedding reception.

4. Ensure sure you  have a permit

The City of Bayside council is the authorised authority that has auspices. Information about how to obtain a permit and the costs involved to conduct a beach ceremony can be found on the Bayside Councils Website. Other suggested locations in the Bayside area can be found in the Bayside Wedding Guide Booklet.

5. Make sure your celebrant has a good sound system

You have invested a lot of time in creating your wedding ceremony vows, so ensure that all your family members and guests can hear them. Being on the beach, with wide open spaces, your voices can get lost against wind and the general beach environment. As there is no power available on the beach foreshore, most professional celebrants have battery operated portable sound systems that can provide both your ceremony music and microphone.

6. Formal or Informal Couture

A beach environment may suggest a more informal setting, so keep that in mind when selecting the suits the groom and his groomsmen will be wearing, Think about more lightweight fabrics and more beach style colours, When it comes to the bride and bridesmaids light flowing fabrics may look great with a light breeze, be careful they are not too light as you may end up with an embarrassing Marilyn Monroe moment.

 7. Ceremony Styling

Many of the photos included in this post feature the work of the very talented team of Circle of Love who specialise in the setting up and styling of wedding ceremonies. The options to style your beach wedding are endless, we highly recommend contacted them to discuss your ceremony requirements.

Others who can also assist in planning and setting up your beach ceremony are Balwyn Events and Onedayyourway.
